*** For all you haters out there who want to flame me in the comments section ***

1. This furnace has the newer heat exchanger. It's inspected every year and It's passed every leak down test it's been given.
2. We have CO detectors
3. This furnace was properly installed and after nearly 25 years of service it's still clean and corrosion free inside and out
4. This furnace is not loud. Upstairs you can barely hear it run
5. This furnace is not inefficient. Of our entire family, my dad has the lowest gas bill during the winter.

The infamous lennox pulse furnace

"In 1982 Lennox made a major gain in the home heating industry with the appearance of the first Pulse combustion gas furnace, a high-efficiency forced-air unit that marked the first major improvement in home heating in 20 years. The G14 Pulse furnace operated with no open flame, igniting tiny bursts of gas and air at a rate of about 60 bursts a second and at over 90 percent fuel efficiency, a significant improvement over the 55 percent energy efficiency of most furnaces in use at that time."

and...

" According to Bob Schjerven, president and chief operating officer for Lennox, dealers have recently reported increased instances of corrosion in some Pulse furnace heat exchangers in units installed before 1990.

As part of the inspection program, Lennox will provide a free AIM Safety carbon monoxide detector.

Lennox furnace data tag - safety recall safety inspection noticeThe Lennox company urges owners of Lennox Pulse furnaces installed between 1982 and 1989 to schedule a furnace and safety check with an independent Lennox dealer. "

  • That very well may be, but how old is he co alarm and how accurate is it? Once again I can't stress this enough have it checked by a professional prior to use,( it's your life, you only get 1) I don't trust them

  • @YodaPala It's a first alert, one of those dual ones that talks to you, I first noticed it when I was home making this video so it's probably with in the past two years

  • Hell, given the state of some of the 'traditional' furnaces that are posted here on youtube, I'd rather take my chances with the lennox

  • @uwtitanfan Well that being said, you plan to die very soon eh? have fun choochin the CO, Good luck

  • @YodaPala In the 13 years that my parents house has had a CO alarm, it's never gone off once and it's always passed the leak down test when dad has inspected every year. Try again Yoda

  • sounds like a chainsaw lol

  • haha! I have an 1988 pulse. It makes that exact same noise as the one in your video and the pipe coming out of the side of the house sounds like the exhaust on an old car. It is a good furnace, though. Knock on wood, I haven't had any problems with it. My central A/C is also Lennox of course. The fan unit outside is from 1976 and still going strong.

  • Your furnace sounds like a lawn mower. Mine is very quiet. But it has problems that I can't troubleshoot. Everytime my furnace turns on, it emits a gass smell. Then I start to get dizzy, sleepy, and nauseated. Do I have a gas leak? Should I call the gas company for help?

  • My furnace isn`t heating my house evenly, if that makes sense. The air doesn`t feel hot in the bedrooms on the 2nd floor? Then sometimes the ignitor lights up, then it turns off, it won`t flame up.

  • @Claytonhill85 There are no burners to clean on the pulse, heat exchanger is a sealed unit, furnace should be inspected annually by a qualified lennox tech that is familiar with this type of equipment

  • Does anyone know how to clean the burners on a lennox pulse g14?

  • I have one installed for years and cant be more pleased with the quietness and effeciency.. A few things may go wrong but it pays for itself in quiet pleasure and savings. I haven't had a thing go wrong however. Have a CO2 detector in basement next to it, has never gone off.

  • Gotta 2008 Lennox Elite furnace installed in my house as the original 1988 piece of shit coleman furnace was slowly dying. The guy in my town that installs mainly Heil furnaces and AC's wanted to put another coleman in and we said F that went to a diff place and got the new Lennox heats amazingly! and more efficient. Getting outside 1987 Heil Ac condensor and coil replaced with the elite condensor and coil next summer. old one cant keep up.

  • I love it. Get a co detector? The thing when it runs produce such a low co level the co detector won't go off. What they don't tell people that most co detectors won't go off under 25ppm. And it happens that most pulses produce well under 50ppm. The windows in the house will tell you more about it than a co detector will.

And dude get a new gas flapper assem. It will quite down your furnace. And basically eliminate the canny sound.

  • Back when Lennox made great products, keep it going for as long as possible!
