Slide show from the cross country phase of the Eventing comp at Beijing 2008. We'd love to show real video but copyright blocks us from sharing. Please watch until the end and leave comments if you, like us, are totally UNDER impressed by the availability in decent times and duration of Equestrian events at the Olympics by the Channel 7 (Australia) - leave them too if it's the same in other countries.

@cecilia200879 Why? Most horses I know love cross country. It can put you off if all you see is on the internet though- the ugly jumps do get more "press" then the nice ones lol I may be a little biased though, being an eventer and all

I've always been against cross country even though I ride dressage. I feel really sorry for the horses

i feel bad when them and their horses fall from a jump and hurt themselves i hope they are ok

on the indiviual medels in third it was mary king and call again cavalier not kristina cook and miners frolic!!

Yes, the sport is quite hard on the horses, but most of them LOVE cross country. I know it looks like the riders pull on the horse's mouth, but you have to keep a connection in order to stay in control. Horses at this level are running flat out, and if you don't have a connection to balance before a jump, it could get very unsafe.
But man, that pic at 1:57 is intense!
