Brave New Foundation Demands Equality for All Americans- Joins National Equality March on Washington

Brave New Foundation is partnering with Equality Across America in their culminating march taking place in Washington, D.C. on October 10-11, 2009 as a result of community organizing in 435 Congressional Districts toward the goal of full federal equality for all LGBT Americans.

"Silent Partners," is the dramatic story of the same-sex partners of three service members fighting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Tragically, same-sex partners of service members fighting in these wars make the same sacrifices as heterosexual spouses but receive none of the benefits. And, instead of supporting their partners proudly and openly, these partners lives are shrouded in secrecy because of the consequence they face due to Dont Ask Dont Tell. Knowledge of their existence and their relationship can cause military officials to initiate an investigation that could result in the service members discharge from the service only because she or he is gay or bisexual.

A very strong argument for removing the don't ask don't tell policy. It's uncivilized to deny equal and civil rights to fellow human beings. Especially, in this case where patriotic citizens are dedicating their lives to protect the freedom and liberty that is afforded everyone but themselves.
