  • Can someone tell me why I'm so proud being Thaï Dam? What's wrong with us: I growned my life long some thing like this song: "We're a community, we 're someone, we got to to behave... Still, we got to be proud & succeed for our ancients"

I'm proud to be a Thaï-Dam, but such a pressure!

Anyway That Thaï Dam things made me stronger than other.

I mean, are you like me growned up with this kinda weird feelings....

  • @taimuongtean Agree. I was at Jing Hong in southern China as a tourist and was amazed by many of the Lao/Thai culture still exists. Of course, thats where the origin was hundreds of years ago. Its actually one of the only places in China that Beijing basically left alone. So many cultures mixed in that area.

  • 122 B.C. - The small Kingdom of Ai-lao is formed by Tai inhabitants

in Yunnan and Tai migrants from territories earlier settled by Tai's but then conquered by Chinese armies. Already at this stage, a tendency is to move southwards to evade Chinese pressure. However, the Tai's at that early time did not flee from Chinese rule as a complete group or as an

expelled nation. Parts of the Tai populations remained in Chinese-ruled

    areas
