Jesus Christ...the British interviewer said something along the lines of "The monarchy in Britain only costs as much per year as one of Obama's round trips to Hawaii." And he said this to downplay the cost of the monarchy.

But think about that for a second: Each one of Obama's multiple Hawaii vacations per year costs the American people more than the entire annual cost of the British Monarchy.

Holy fuck. That level of opulence would make last Tsar of Russia blush.
