http://www.dolphinstreet.com/guitar_video_lessons/lesson-81.php has both TAB and GP5 files. This is a blues lick in the style of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Have a listen to Texas Flood, and you'll hear SRV burn off quite a few licks very similar to this one.

  • However, scales isnt always the best way, Charlie Parker is ssaid to have said htat he uses the chromatic scale, only stopping on certain "key notes"

You probably should listen to every intervall and how it rings to get the most out of your playing

  • like this, its great learning licks, its great learning scales, the ideal way would be to learn everything so it is under your fingers (in this way of learning)

and as for you mr. thruthaxeorwhatthefuckyournameis the lick isnt locked in this position, noone is stopping you from moving it the the key of c or perhaps g? something I think is important to do is to transpose the licks you learn to other shapes (based around the diffrent chordshapes (mainly the three) )

  • U.tok.a-like.jackie.chan! Thanks for the lesson!

  • is this in E blues scale?

  • The good thing about blues riffs is that they are so versatile. This would go well over blues, RnB, Rock and Roll, Blues-Rock, and hard rock Hard Rock. You got to know the blues to know Rock n Roll.

  • i really wanted to look up what TruthAxe said but 9 months?!...yeah fuck that

  • @clannao sweden

  • Amazing Ive just found my double, Rotren, you look pretty much identical to me, and I play guitar too, small world.

  • How woulkd you play this with a metronome? I'd like to get the timing and structure as close as possible.
