@dennymon27 : I thought the ECW one was alright, also... FH was good, but Gabe Saplowski (sp?) is a total fucking idiot... he says Gilbert booked ECW "too Memphis" and "...it wasn't good for Philly..." Does this shithead not realize how much of ECW was pilfered from Memphis? I'm glad ROH fired his fat ass!! And, sure, I expected the vast majority of the WCCW doc to pertain to the Von Erichs, but Jarrett purchasing the promotion actually prolonged their life for a couple years...
@DeepSouthWrestling1 yeah I agree to a point but world class was von Erich land the Ecw dvd was good to although I thought hardcore forever was better
@dennymon27 : The AWA one was surprisingly good, but I thought the WCCW one was a bit half-assed... what was on there was good, but it was entirely too Von Erich-specific... it never got into Jarrett buying it and actually drawing with Embry...
@bubbadin30 : Watts took over McGirk's( I think) Louisiana based territory and called it Mid South Wrestling. Once he tried to compete with McMahon, he changed the name to Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF). Memphis was simply known as "Championship Wrestling" until the mid-80s when they changed to "CWA" (which stood for Championship Wrestling Association). Once Jarrett purchased World Class from the VonErichs, the name changed to USWA... Memphis was called the mid-south geographically...
@DeepSouthWrestling1 i thought watts had wcw and uswa was mid south wrestling after it was cwa but before it became uswa.. because Mondays they did the shows in Memphis and Thursdays they came to the Louisville gardens. theirs been so many wrestling companies here in the south keeping track of everything gets confusing sometimes
@DeepSouthWrestling1 OK thanks for the info i was going by what was said in a Jim cornette interview over the midnight express twenty fifth anniversary DVDs since it used footage from their mid south days.
@DeepSouthWrestling1 or ecw and the connection to continental formerly southeastern championship wrestling
