This old bridge in the Ozark Mountains of southwestern Missouri has carried traffic since the early 1900s, and has seen generations of children and adults enjoy the crystal clear, clean stream below as they fish, swim or just sit in lawn chairs right in the cool water. Sadly it finally became to unstable for todays heavier cars and trucks, and was closed in the summer of 2007, just days after this video was filmed.
That bridge is still open. They closed it down to work on it. But it's still open. I live up the road.

My father owned the land that this bridge spanned, including the site of an old turbine driven mill. That's why the damn crosses Beaver Creek. He owned it from some time in the early 70's until his death in 1992...... I was already grown and living out in KS when he bought it, so I didn't spend that much time there. He loved the clear water of Beaver Creek, but never got to spend as much time down there as he wanted to. Thanks for the video.
