  • @Ego2Big4Helmet Not sure why you think that added data, inter-active channels, etc would be exclusively shown on smart phones or tablets. The whole point is to enhance the general TV product - to take it somewhere back to where it was in the early 2000s with SkyDigitalPlus. More on-boards - m ore viewing options. And to have more mid-week and winter F1 TV content, together with much more pre-prace promotion, etc. That's what Martin is talking about.

  • F1 will go from less is more, to more is less, less viewers, less exposure, less revenue from the ranks of ordinary fans, and ultimately less interest, F1 seriously overestimates the value of live timing, data, etc on a 3" phone screen, F1 is first and foremost a visual and aural feast, and that feast is diminished and less palatable when viewed on a smartphone or tablet sized screen, the bigger picture has been and will be missed, in more than one way.
