***Also sung by: Teresa Teng

When the nights are dark, the quietness shall so cast
Its desolateness- an emptiness that much more vast

When all is quiet, the solitude deafens that much more
Echoing the loneliness to the very core

But somewhere in the dimmness, a light so does shine
an incandescence to soften the darkess of the heart and mind

And in its illumination there is a hope which enables one to bear
any such obliqueness that may so despair

A cast of light, a reflection from up high
The lunar glow from up the very sky

And if that moon can shed a luminosity so bright
So that obscurities vanish, and brings enlightment to plain sight

Then if that is such, then let it be a start
To let the night-time come....
and let...THE MOON REPRESENT MY HEART

  • The video was taken professionally, but they missed something. A pro doesn't play with sheet music in front of him or her. It is being played by heart.

  • Rest assured, teksupot, this video (as with all mine) is a VERY amateur one, and far from being a "pro" :) NONE of my recordings are played from memorization, as all are either site-read or given only a few hours to learn (or arranged).

But...sometimes, Teusupot?...If one listens closely...the meaning of "music"...can be heard with much more insight...

Thank-you for stopping by, teksupot. Happy New Year to you :)

  • Aaaaah...

Thank-you for your sweet proposal, Oncom2008 (...giggling...).

But...the person you choose to spend the rest of your life with?...She'd gladly SHARE your grand piano. She'd be singing and humming, whilst helping keep your house..a HOME. She'd serve you, as you'd serve her...in BOTH tending to each others' happiness. And then the rings on your fingers?...would truly be a symbol of love...

  • It's a well-known "classic", performed by the late Taiwanese singer, Teresa Teng. (Not Kenny G.)

  • Excellent performance. You are so beautiful, and the song is also so beautiful.

  • 3 ) In some ways, the moon reflects light in a certain way, from other angles, which reflects light in other ways. But love, though seemingly different, never changes. Beneath the veil of the crescent or half moon or moonlessness, there's a full moon just waiting to occur. Add to that the importance of the moon in Chinese culture, and have a great song.

  • 2 ) And time, undoubtedly, it is important to man.pretty close. The circle of love, like magic, love seems to be replenished over time. And like magic, the moon appears to change over time. Bit does the moon really changed over the years? Is always the same moon, just how is it makes it seem different.

  • 1 ) There's this song that I love. , Out of context, the moon is a moon, and are generally not considered anything special. However, the Chinese culture the moon is much more than just "a moon". The moon in the Chinese culture is like the sun in western culture. It is the same in the literal sense, but rather in terms of importance and value, is really culture uses the sun to tell time, while the Chinese use the moon (without which there will be no lunar new year).

  • Absolutely beautiful...THANK YOU!
