  • So is Heart Failure the same as CAD, CHD, and Heart Disease?

  • @vpletap No, heart failure can be caused by CAD/CHD/Heart Disease.

  • Sal's wife is now teaching Sal to do biology videos!

  • A lot of your video is clear and accurate. In simplifying the explanation of ischemia, you misled your audience. Damaged heart muscle with sufficient injury can lead to ht failure, but it would be at the end of a much longer process. The example of jogging with a coronary artery stenosis would lead to "angina" NOT heart failure. Ht failure occurs when the heart fails to pump sufficient to the body's needs. It would be rare to develop heart failure while jogging, but common to suffer angina.

  • what's the difference between Stenosis and Atherosclerosis

  • Awesome video, thanks. :D

  • THANKS ALOT SIR

  • MOORE MEDICIINEEEEEEEEE

  • Amazing work Sal. Quick bit for some of the commenters...

    1. Heart Failure is by definition the inability of the heart to maintain an adequate Cardiac Output (CO). This is the amount of blood pumped out per minute. If it's too low your body systems cannot oxygenate adequately of course.

    2. CAD/CHD is NOT the same thing as Heart Failure. These are conditions which can LEAD to heart failure (in other words, your heart gets damaged, the pump becomes weak, and THEN you end up with heart failure).

  • How does it feel to know tat probably every college student watches ur video.

  • That's why I mentioned cardiac output.

Heart failure is the heart's inability to meet normal cardiac output.

You can check the statement's accuracy. I'm sure that, even if your wife isn't a cardiologist, she'll still know what cardiac output is.

  • Is Sal like the most intelligent person on the planet or what? How can he do 'educational' video's on so many subjects, including math!? I met Sal, via email about 6 yrs. ago. I asked about money, investing, buying a house in that current market etc., and he was not only very helpful, but very gracious as well. I pointed all his math video's to my teenage daughters too!

  • You probably won't do any videos about Cardiac Output, but it would help me if you did. Maybe make it more understandable than the cardiologist who taught it to us.

A cardiologist who, he continually informed us, worked on the patient who received the first Jarvik heart.

IDK why we needed to know that, actually, but never mind.

He had all these young, silly women hanging on the edge of their seats every time he talked. O_o
