the most dangerous knife is always the unsharpened one....thx for that 'how not to' video. A little 'mic' fyi....though condenser mics are used in studios, that doesn't make this mic 'studio' usable. All condenser means is that the element is a 'capacitance' type 'diaphragm' as opposed to a 'coil and magnet' dynamic type or a ribbon type. the mic built into a notebook is a condenser mic (though its an 'electret' condenser). I wouldn't call a notebook mic a 'studio used' mic.

as for the pop filter, almost ALL condenser mics are prone to 'plosives' because they are sensitive. The element is generally a very THIN piece of metal. Hell, try blowing into the mic at karaoke (probably a dynamic mic) and see if the karaoke host doesn't smack you up side the head for doing it. Microphones are designed to pick up 'sound pressure' and you're blowing a pressure wave directly on the element...that's why 'plosives' cause popping, they're 'windy' sounds, like P and B and T.
