WABC Headline Chasers promo/intro (somebody goofed!), 1985

Someone at Ch. 7 forgot to properly cue the tape, so they hastily slapped a "Late Movie" bumper slide on (w/a VO) while the problem was fixed.

At the beginning is Regis Philbin with a promo for "The Morning Show," a local talk show on WABC that he hosted before "Live with Regis and Kelly."

@LaurenLover81 Wally was more than likely live. His shift was usually the overnight V/O man on WABC, and I don't think they'd have a pre-recorded blurb on hand for something as rare and unusual as this.

RARE and special this was. Wally Parker having to cover for the snafu, and no doubt a production card for WABC right before the slide plaster (Headline Chasers the Channel 7 Late Movie? Why not?) and the legendary Johnny Gilbert announcing for Mr. Martindale.

@WhatsAYak I remember the show airing at either midnight or 12:30am. I know it was before 2, the late movie came on right after, IIRC

Someone cued it up where the promo was because the HEADLINE CHASERS promo could easily be mistaken for the show opener. And some recorded feeds will have the promos first before the actual show itself, ET & THE INSIDER does the same thing. And was Wally Parker live on-duty when this happened at 2am?
