Bathory International Trailer

I edited this trailer for Jakubisko FIlm in March of 2008. Director Juraj Jakubisko seemed to like to like it and I remember he wanted a bit of shock at the start with the woman burning on the cross. Besides that I was not given much direction since they were busy editing the 85th version of the film. The trailer is without final color grading and sound design.

Vampires, Sadism, Bathing in Blood...that is what "people" of today like watching from their comfortable anglo-saxon Seedless Grape World. How about those REAL PEOPLE back in 1500, 1600 who had to defend their land from invading enemy?Whithout the life long efforts of their many generations Europe would have been part of the Osman turk Empire? Know anything about them?

I have read a book about her, and yes, she was a monster, and since that this is a movie, some things had to be changed. However, that doesn't mean producers shouldn't make movies about bad heroes. Even hitler (who was much, much more evil) is portrayed in a lot of movies, so why we can't have a movie about a noblewoman who was a bit too crazy?

Elizabeth Bathory is a amazing person hehehe if any of u seen the movie "stay alive" is based on her story haha its just instead of servants its modern time (video games)

@MayraMacabre do you know that they call her The most Evil woman in History or the "countess vampire" ?..coz she murdered more than 600 young girls (her servants) in her time lol ... and she believed that when she ate the flesh or drink the blood of the young girls she can maintain her youthful looks ... but i think she's just crazzyy !! Lol

@9ludverc You do know this is based on a true story right? Elizabeth Bathory (Erzebet Bathory in Hungarian) was a countess of Hungarian nobility who would kill and bathe in virgins blood to retain her youth.. until she was finally captured that is, at least that's how the story goes.. For all we know, she was just some sadistic psycho.. I guess the movie wanted to tie her story in with the other troubles of the time period.. Regardless, she was a "real" person, horrible, but real..
