Dearly Beloved (Piano Collections Kingdom Hearts)

This is "Dearly Beloved" from the Kingdom Hearts Piano Collection. Music by Yoko Shimomura, arrangement by Natsumi Kameoka. Kingdom Hearts made by Squaresoft and the Walt Disney Company.

Gotta love the luminous flourishes of this version. Also, this is one of those pieces that sounds much easier than it actually is to play. The hands are awkwardly far away from each other at some points and you have to play at least one hand without looking at it. Kind of feels like flying when your arms are so much apart from each other. Also, the intertwining melodies are a challenge to play in a way that the listener can actually hear what is going on. For a piano player, there is so much in this piece that you can begin to feel after you've been playing it for a while. Enjoy.

How...in the? Verdegrand, I love your interpretation. But, please, for the love of God, how do you play the downward gliss at 1:35 and 1:50 so smoothly?

@avidd13 hi, thanks a lot, and about those two passages, it's actually a broken chord. the tricky thing is that it's six notes to cover so you can't do it with a standard breakdown of a chord that fits into a single "grip" of your hand. so i take the first 5 notes into a grip, break it down and append the sixth note with my index finger directly after the broken chord ends, that way it sounds seamless. greetings
