Annette and Helen were good friends, very good friends even. Helen tended to sing the 'neater' type of songs, while Annette to care of the more adult lyrics. There were definitely no hard feelings between those two. Things were completely different between Annette and Ruth Etting. Ruth was married with a mobster, who succesfully kept Annette from issuing her records on major labels. That is why you will find only two records of her on Columbia and the rest on minor labels.
