  • Death scene: No violins, no explosions, no screaming, no quick-cuts. Just pure evil in the air. Very refreshing. Impossible in today's Oprahist age.

  • Wow...what a spidery woman. She crawls around her husband's death bed, back-handedly confessing all of the horrors she's committed, confesses, again back-handedly to killing him. Then has the gall to tell him its his fault that she's put him in his death bed.

That is one bloody scary woman. "don't touch the figs". And another confession. If I were the person she told that to I would be on the next horse the hell out of there and never set foot in Rome again!

  • Wow, intense!! Amazing acting. Thanks again for uploading these.

  • Brian Blessed and Sir Patrick Stewart, the epicness of this clip knows no boundaries!

  • @Jitpring Agree...Not just "no violins" but no music. Sian Phillips voice and Brian Blessed's eyes tell it all.

  • wow patrick stweart as sejanus

  • Bloody hell, she makes the Wicked Witch look like Mother Theresa.

  • @TheFett007 Hear hear!

The good thing is that as time passes, the crap gets forgotten and the true greats aren't (mostly - some do fall through the cracks).

I have no time for all the people who are constantly lamenting how bad the music/TV/movies/culture/etc. of today is compared to some mostly imaginary "golden age". In fact, I'd argue that today is just as good if not better - if only for the simple fact that we have more tools than at any time in the past to search for and FIND the gems.

  • Livia, eh? The Mrs Thatcher of Pompei!
