I still think Amtrak is a dumbass, why not keep those P40s for extra units in case of power shortages, or stuff like that. Sheesh, better have more and be safe, then less and be sorry
The video was good until the cameraman panned the camera to follow the Superliner coaches instead of keeping it focused on the remaining consist (the autoracks). Still and overall nice vid though.
wow, everything today in this train is different from today's. The old autoracks are gone, the P40's are gone, and the superliners are now in phase IVb. I remember when all the equipment was in Phase IV in the late 90's including the autoracks because i rode the train several times and i still do

They've recently said that some of the P40s are coming out of storage for use as spare units and to aid fleet expansion.

Phase IVB looks a lot better than what amtrak has on it today. They always ruin there trains by putting those ugly new paint schemes on them.
