In his 70 minute lesson for the Music Path iPad app, Jake teaches several songs, including stunning solo arrangements of "Amazing Grace" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and a duet version of his original composition, "Pianoforte."
Jake starts by introducing students to the very basics of playing the ukulele (e.g., how to hold and tune a ukulele, how to strum simple chords) and then gradually works up to more and more advanced techniques, making this a lesson that will appeal to everyone from novice to advanced musicians.
The "On the Music Path" iPad app offers lessons on a variety of instruments taught by world-renowned musicians including Jackson Browne, Richard Thompson, Eric Johnson, Lee Ritenour, Michael Chapdelaine, Leland Sklar, and Ravi Shankar. Each lesson includes 45-90 minutes of on-screen time with a master musician shot in high-definition video and accompanied by complete notation, tablature and chord charts synchronized to the teacher's playing. On the Music Path is available exclusively through Apple's App Store. Students can download the app and the first few chapters of any lesson for free (including the first 5 chapters of Jake's lesson).
