Most of Brewer's solo are single strokes and triplets with the kick drum. Not that difficult....but catchy and it was his. He was powerful, fast, and a great showman. Many GFR albums taught me how to play. It was when I started listening to rock drummers like Ian Paice and Bobby Caldwell, that I noted the importance of learning rudiments in order to play their style. Not a ton of rudiments in Brewer's drumming. But it's fantastic straight-ahead rock...with a great groove and feel.
"Ain't no Bonham"...that's hardly fair, comparing the 60-year-old guy in this clip to Bonzo in his prime ( do you think, had John Bonham lived, that he would have that 32-year-old stamina today? ). I saw Brewer, 1973 and 1975...he was a powerhouse. More than that, Don Brewer owned the stage during his solo. NOBODY played with that much drive.
GFR will never be the same without Farner. Bring him back!!!

Not enough room on the stage once you get Brewer and his ego there.
