Every Friday the pigeon fanciers of Cairo gather together in the cemetery of old Cairo to share knowledge and trade birds. These birds aren't for eating. Some are coveted for unusual physical traits. Some, for their endurance and navigation abilities. And some are used in neighborhood pigeon wars.
Many are named with their country of origin, English, Indian, Yemeni, Turkish, and American. The birds are usually sold for 15LE-200LE ($3-$40), though the rarest of birds can reach 2000LE.
Wow, even the war pigeons? Do they arranging pigeon fights?
That's no wonder, because pigeon is really aggressive creature, just like roosters.
