Also, SASR units don't wear DPDU. Usually the special forces in australia wear Crye Multicam.

The Australian SASR use M4 Carbines because most special forces in the western world use them, so this ensures compatibility of equipment when they work with other special forces units.

Also, the F88 AusSteyr uses a different kind of 5.56 ammunition than the m16 or the m4, so if they use m4s (which are much lighter than the F88s) they can resupply from the Americans. Plus, the m4 has more versatility with attachments than the Steyr does, although this is being changed as they have a new model.
