@HangProgressives How the hell did affirmative action get us Obama? He won because more people voted for him. If anything Bush became president on affirmative action through the Electoral College in 2000 when Al Gore had more of the popular vote. Your comment is ridiculous and needs to be shoved up a baboon's ass.

This nonsense about using economic status is bullshit too. There are poor whites you know. Actually, there are more poor whites than poor blacks when you look at real numbers and not proportion. Therefore, if poor whites had to compete against poor blacks for admission, and there are far more of them to blacks, whites will still get an advantage and wash the poor blacks out. So even if economics was considered, you still would have to take race into account to foster diversity.

I have a brilliant idea. Let's base college acceptance on MERITS and ACCOMPLISHMENT rather than meaningless things like race and background. This isn't exactly rocket science here.

well obviously, you haven't heard one word these guys were saying. base economic help on SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS, the ACTUAL problem. couldn't be more simpler than that, and anyone who has a hard time digesting that is beyond hope.
