This footage came from a long session completely improv fun and experimentation. This was my last chance to go nuts on my drum kit for quite a while since I'm about to move into college.
As such, excuse any mindless doodling and hiccups that pollute this video. Keep in mind that this was my day to take a break from my usual practice and just have fun.
Also, I have to give a shout-out to melbournemusos (search for his channel, you won't regret it). His videos on using melody on the kit were certainly the biggest inspiration to the approach I decided to take for much of this video (albeit less refined). Also, yet another shout-out to Travis Orbin for inspiring me to make a step into the refreshing world of open-stance (two hi-hats!!). I'm slowly building up my left side, even though I don't show it much in this video.
Anyways, sorry for all the blabber. I'm feeling sad about leaving my kit at home for the coming months. Excuse all the ridiculous drummer-faces and ENJOY!!
dont really dig all that mallet work... but once u finally took out the sticks, not bad. personally i dont really like the black sued head on the snare, coated ambassador over snare side ambs always worked best for me

@joeyhoeyca Thank you for your comments on this and my other videos! This snare tends to be pretty resonant with other heads. I plan on trying out the Remo Controlled Sound. It'll be a bit less muffled since it's a singly-ply head with a power dot, unlike this Black X which is a two-ply with a power dot. I'll be making a lot more videos (without mallets :P ) when I'm home from college, so look out for those.
