Superstition (1982) Unrated

Also known as The witch in UK. All hell breaks lose when a priest family moves into a long-condemned New England "rumored to be" haunted house with a big pond out back that everybody loves to swim in. A young skeptical priest decides to look into the history of the place and what he finds out is not pretty. He finds out that the pond was the site of the execution by drowning of a witch three hundred years before, and she's back to revenge herself on anybody nearby. A very brutal and scary horror film, a so called "hidden gem" as this American horror film was unrated and the film was banned in many countries when it was new.

dont put whole eggs in the microwave. Above average flick for 80's era horror; I think classic or masterpiece is a bit much.

I'm impressed, this was a pretty good creepy movie..!! I sure hope they don't remake this...

I dont think they will remake this film as it is a "hidden gem", also the fact that Hollywood nowadays discriminates against women and children should be taken into consideration. Its of course their money and they are free to do whatever they want, but the Nightmare on Elm Street remake was enough for me.

WOW! So many questions... Let's start with the obvious... Why in the h#@$ did they not move out WAAAAY before the final attack began. The witch did everything to warn them but send a certified letter reading GET OUT OR I WILL KILL YOU!!!

Why did the daughter who was in constant PMS mode throughout the movie become helpless just when her skills were needed the most?

Didn't the detective have any other cases?

Anyway - Nice to hear The Shining theme again!
