Bass cover of Toto's "Africa. Live recorded with camcorder placed in front of bass rig. Original bass line faded out with Tascam MP BT1. This time with a Musicman Stingray 4HH with an John East preamp BTB MMSR (3 band). Pup switch on position 1 (bridge pup only).

I think the great advantage of the John East preamp is, that you have the possiblity to choose your mid center frequency with the parametric pot. You can dial in almost every sound with this preamp you want. For me the bass sounds less harsh than with the stock preamp. Hope this helps.
