I meant to say 'He' came up with something.......oops sorry about that. Sounded like I was Ken himself..haha.....also typo in second line...I read the play....

Anyone read the orginal play? I read and think the liberties he took justifiable for a modern audience. I loved this movie from my first viewing. If I watch a really depressing film, I then watch this one and I have a smile on my face all the way through - it is great fun and meaningful at the same time. Kudos to Ken is right. I did something entirely different and came up with a little gem!

By being really, really, unloyal to the original text. But if we get a movie like this out of, who cares?

The women are gorgeous (in this video at any rate). But how do you fit a topical play about the fashions of learning (and about love) into the mould of cabaret-musical?
Kudo's to Director Kenneth Branagh for making this movie for the average person. I don't normally view musicals (nor Shakespeare), but this was a real treat for me...I loved it!
This dance from the movie "Love's Labour's Lost" was kind of sensual without being lascivious, and it was nice to see Matthew Lillard in a more intelligent role, away from those silly "Scooby Doo" & other fluff movies...
I want to see more movies like this...

Well, it's not as if Kenneth Branagh has a reputation for being unloyal to the text. Quite the opposite. His 'Hamlet' is practically the only uncut version around. I love this film because it suits the style of the original play. It captures the spirit of Shakespeare's sense of fun when it comes to language.
