The Bike Friday New World Tourist is a folding bicycle capable of world travel. The folding characteristics of the bike enable it to be checked as regular baggage with most international airlines - thereby eliminated the excess baggage fees that are usually required when flying a full-size bicycle. The Bike Friday New World Tourist is a great little bike for fully-loaded bicycle touring, but how does the small wheel size affect the overall speed and handling of the bicycle itself? Watch this short video and discover the answer for yourself!

  • I test rode a BIke Friday and was generally impressed with how it handled. It was every bit as fast as a regular road bike and felt similar. There were a couple of differences. The wheelbase seemed a little shorter than most other road bikes, which made it very maneuverable at slow speeds (much more so than a regular road bike), but slightly less stable at high speeds. In general, I was impressed but not enough to buy one.

  • I'll keep my comfort bike and touring bike. The folding bikes are fine for some, I wouldn't feel safe riding in all this traffic here.....
