Most definitely. Just look at the "sentilo battere/toccami qua" bit: this version is sensuous, La Scala's was just vulgar. I won't mention the singers, let's just say that those who performed on Dec. 7, 2011 wouldn't have been allowed to sing in the streets a few decades ago, let alone La Scala.

This is marvelous... Last night's La Scala attempr at performing this work was a total disaster and embrarassing for everyone, but it continues to be considered "Art"... A lesson in how to pay the newspapers to instruct the public...
