Lateiros Curupira from Aracaju

Teacher/percussionist, Gladston Batista dos Santos, "Ton Toy," is the mastermind behind Lateiros Curupira. Through his musical expertise, love and dedication, Ton Toy, is able to inspire his students. Most of them come from poor neighborhoods in Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil. The study of music helps his students to stay out of trouble.
Ton Toy gives them opportunities, through music, to expand their horizons. He teaches them the importance of their traditions and culture of Northeastern Brazil. Two of his own children participate with Lateiros Curupira and his wife Linda supports them, as well. Many individuals, public and private organizations help Ton Toy with his project.
