We made some box improvements... rounded all the corners, sealed up the port with silicone, ran speakers wires through brass rod instead of out the port, and put duct tape around the subs to sealed them up. We gained 1dB with these changes! So we now have 151.4 dB with two SA-8s on one SAZ-3500D in the kick panel @ 53 Hz !!!

  • i think sealed boxs are alot deeper bass, what do you think, and would this set up do a good hair trick, with the box sealed up?

  • @mr010tommy010

Sealed boxes do not work well at all with the SA-8s.

  • what did it make when you metered at the windsheild?

  • See my other video -- 150.0 dB

  • the door was opened this time wasent it other then the last test sealed

  • Yes, the 150.0 is sealed up dB Drag Style on the dash -- this is "Outlaw" style like the USACI competition association with the mic in the kick panel and one door open.

  • how will a sealed box do on low bass (around 30 to 35Hz)?

  • @neoplasmax i lol'd

  • I just purchased a Sundown sa-8 and looks amazing but I dont know too much about designing ported enclosures.

Could you point me in the right direction or maybe a design that you already know of with the dimensions of the box and port for a slot ported box tuned around 30-35hz for one of these?

I feel like im asking a bit much but i cant seem to find a box design when I google it anywhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    thanks, Kyle

  • Do you guys think you can do a demo of them playing music? All these videos are just of them at their peak freq for a score.

  • I'm not really about SPL, I'm more into the thunder effect being next to someone at the red light. Which is usually a much lower frequency that SPL meters show much lower on. We used to tune boses around think was 80Hz and SPL would be nutso but it sounded like shit. I'm a huge fan of the 30-50Hz rumble effect. Haha... I wanna know how well these speakers do for that seeing a lot of vids on them but none that really show of the low end so much.

  • @oOb2KnErOo i thought the same thing till i had purchased my sundown sa-8 these things are nasty.

i had a cadence zrs 12(1000rms) in a box tuned to 35 hz and when i purchased the sa-8 i was skeptical like most people. but i put it in a .8cube box tuned to 35hz and the sa-8 hits the lows better then my 12 did. also the sa-8 is louder on the tl from 32hz on up to 39hz. after that the 12 takes the sa-8. the sa-8 is my favorite driver. sundown for the win

  • @arawndark what's the dimensions?

  • how?
