Brush Jazz

I've not played brushes for a long time so I'm trying to jog my memory with this jazz backing track, trying a couple of ideas. I would say Steve Gadd's brush playing inspires me more than that of any other drumming because his musicality is incredible. I also like Jeff Hamilton (of course).

I used my Regal Tip retractable brushes on my Omark Hakim signature snare (13") which has an Aquarian De Johnette batter head.

Very enjoyable! I wish my hands were coordinated enough to work with brushes. I'd love to learn how to play jazz one day.

I liked it. Maybe next time have more light,

it is hard to see your hands. Is your snare Drum on a stand? It seems to move every time you play. Good Job!

Cheers. Nah the snare was sitting on my lap lol. I'd play differently if I was sitting at a kit because the hi-hat is important to brush playing - it's much more difficult with snare on its own.
