Cashel Gold Star Task Group is a community based project that was set up to raise disability awareness under the principle that if everyone works together goals can be achieved of ensuring people with disabilities can fully participate in the social, cultural, economic and political life of the community.

Building on this, the Cashel community are now committed to achieving a Gold Star Status for their Town for people with disabilities. All local, voluntary and statutory agencies and people with disabilities themselves have come together to work towards the achievement of a Gold Star status.

The Cashel Gold Star Disability Task Group was set up in 2006 and aims to work to improve awareness and integration of people with disabilities to assist the community in ensuring all premises and activities are accessible and welcoming to all.
