3 wahs from different backgrounds:

Guitar research wah - Cheap and shiny! thats what sells but it didnt really sound good stock so I modified it and its MUCH better! Sounds pretty good although the sweep seems like its shifted a bit. Just gotta rock your foot forward more often!

Vox v847 rev b - Totally stock however I replaced the battery snap since it came undone. sounds pretty good for stock but too "clean" sounding and the treadle moves effortlessly. I kind of like a bit of grit and a nice solid treadle with a lot of resistance.

Thomas Organ wah - Vintage!!!!! yeah its from the 1960's and it sounds killer! It has the stack of dimes inductor and its completely stock except for the output resistor which i lowered for a bit of boost. It sounds very similar to the previous two but it has a better "feel" to it and works how I want it to work.

All three of these are for sale/trade but the thomas organ might be harder to pry out of my hands than the other two!

  • @gividen51 The whammy bar effects the actually pitch of a note. The wah pedal just effects the tone. The "bend"ing of a note changes the pitch as well, it makes the pitch sharp. The whammy bar makes the pitch flat if pushed down, if you pull up on the whammy bar it will make the pitch sharp.

  • Totally just an interested music lover trying to figure out the wah pedal's function so thank you so much (and for what it's worth, I really don't like the Vox pedal's sound) ... now i'm trying to figure out the whammy bar and how it's different from the wah pedal so do you have a demo on that? Also, how holding guitar away from the guitarist's body affects the sound...also what it means to "bend" a note...ok I'll stop. ;-) But this vid is really cool

  • good demo... tells me to buy the least expensive...

  • That chord progression sounds like Goin' Where The Wind Blows by Mr Big! Nice demo also :)

  • Thanks for the demo! the Thomas Organ wah sounds best. I'm about to mod my v847 to v846 - probalby with a castledine halo inducot, but maybe with a whipple - hard to decide.

  • sold your Guitar Research wah?
