Made for Zemyx Day 2009. A little late, but still. I love you all.

Demyx and Zexion had never really paid much attention to each other before then. Zexion was the quiet, bookish type that got picked on. Demyx was the school's darling, always carefree and willing to help anyone. But when they were put in a Poetry and Lyrics class together, something happened. And things would never be the same. For either of them.

In secret, in quiet, in the dead of night when the moon, their gentle, loving mother, shone down upon them, they would meet. Sometimes they wouldn't speak. Sometimes they would kiss. But all that mattered was that the other was there.

But as their young love was only beginning to bloom, Zexion was cruelly stolen from Demyx's world. And he can't see him anymore. See him, feel him, hold him, touch him, taste him, hear that beautiful voice say his name, laugh with him, write with him, sing to him, see that shy, long-unused smile peeping out from under his hair, hear those self-conscious, nervous three words again... Nothing.

His lover, his heart, his soul, his life, is gone. And nothing can bring him back. And yet Demyx must keep up that happy smile of his, pretend to be cheerful and once more careless. And never again shall he see those silent, piercing eyes watching him from the corner of a room, filled with a secret only they knew.

And only now, when he can't take this endless charade any more, will the people around him know. Know of the pure, true love that once blossomed in their midst. A fragile flower, easily broken and only fleeting, untried, untested, unknown. But its memory will last forever. A love so strong will never truly be lost...
