14th September 2010.
There was a book launch at the local restaurant Arcadia in Balestrate in Sicily. It was our first night of a ten day holiday and we had gone for a meal on the advice of our local travel agent. We were to experience one of the best nights we have ever had while on holiday. In the distance there was a lightning storm at sea, meanwhile it seemed like the whole town had come out to celebrate the book. Since we spoke no italian, and the locals spoke very little english, we were really unsure of what the book was about, although the author graciously gave my wife a book to take home. I have since discovered that it is a book about Santa Rosalia, the patron saint of Palermo.
I hope you watch it to the end to see the fabulous dancing of the local townsfolk, and the amazing music of the talented italian musicians.
What a night!
Wow, what a dance!
Looks like a beautiful evening.
I could live like that.
