This video was created by Sharon Berg from snapshots taken on December 19th, 2009 when the Olympic Torch Relay passed through Acton, Ontario. The person who carried the torch passes it to another runner at relay point #39. Together, they embody the pride of all Canadians. As the runner shares her own proud moment with all of the neighbours in her community, she represents all Canadians. No one could be more proud than the small town folk along the path of the Olympic Flame who shared in the journey to the 2010 Winter Games. Neither sleet, nor snow, nor cold, nor protestors could keep us from lining the roads in small town Canada to cheer on the torch bearers. But man! It was frosty! I truly believe that launching this cross-Canada run for the torch helped to draw Canadians together in support of our athletes. They must have felt our support for they have surely made us proud in collecting a record number of gold and such an impressive number of medals.
