    The 'eons perspective' vid has:

E.ON UK Energy challenge Trilemma affordable affordable energy lower carbon lower carbon energy renewable energy reliable energy security of supply energy wind power wind farms Biomass coal CCS cleaner coal Gas gas storage nuclear new nuclear carbon emissions Kingsnorth stakeholders fuel poverty NGOs community Corporate responsibility Community funds Employee involvement Corporate partners

  • I wonder if e-on realise people may actually be watching and take issue with their ridiculous PR spin?

Watching the other videos almost made me cry.... their ability to justify their actions and their greed, the huge amount of money they have to create this greenwasking tool, their inability to face up to their responsibility for climate change.

It saddens me, but at the same time I am heartened by others willing to stand and say "no, this is utter crap!"

  • Some spurious stuff in there

I don't think eon's profit motive is unreasonable is so far they are a corporate entity. the problem is that political issues have been privatized by allowing both the general public and politicians to wash their hands of blame. controlling co2 emissions is really easy if the gov mandates a cap on energy consumption by fossil fuels. once such a regime is in place with some-sort of depletion protocol efficiency efforts make sense

  • Fair enough. My thoughts are: I don't support unabated coal until CCS is 100%, and even then I don't think we should be burning and using up our finite resources of fossil fuels. Aside from releasing unnecessarily huge amounts of CO2, we can't know what purpose our children may find for them. The same point applies even more strongly to our ever-depleting world supply of Uranium and other radioactive elements. The future is wind, wave, solar, possibly tidal power, including microgeneration.

  • At pntrend. We can see the thumbs but we can't change them, in the same way that we have no control over the video ratings. We've been asking for open and honest debate for some time so controlling these things is something which which we absolutely would not want to do any way. I suggest we focus on solutions instead of accusations so let's talk energy - interested what are your thoughts on safeguarding the future of energy in the UK?

  • Strangly they are actually spend hundreds of thousands of pounds promoting this so-called debate - adult to adult apparently. Of course that's a drop in the ocean that is their profits, but still, would have thought they could do something useful with it like insulate a couple of thousand homes - something which would actually do something to address the climate change they seem so scared to mention.

  • Well said

  • Thanks for taking the time to do this and tell the truth.

  • Companies like Eon mislead your average Joe into thinking that they are putting their money with people who actually care about the world... When the sad reality is that they are giving their money to a business that is so corrupt that they are willing to take peoples money by fooling them into thinking they are a green alternative Its absolutely sickening....

I hope anyone working for them has a hard time explaining themselves to their grand childeren in x years!!...

  • Well put.
