This is a protest exhibit to bring attention to the abandonment and serious neglect of an amazing small town known as Vecchio Romagnano al Monte in Campania, Italy. (I have done other works on the subject which includes photograhy, painting and a documentary film.)
It's been abandoned and left to essentially decay since November 1980, when an earthquake hit that region. Its people decided to relocate. The town, which dates back to 700 A.D., was left desolate. The town, however, is amazing and magical.
The Region of Campania recently refused a proposed project that was extremely reasonable and enlightened. It was, for no good reason, rejected. No alternative measures were offered to date by the Region of Campania.
With this protest exhibit, which is a work in progress, and its dissemination, I hope to keep pressure on the Region of Campania to change its decision and quickly move forward in the resurrection and renaissance of borgo fantasma Vecchio Romagnano al Monte.
