@transportvn american cars are made to be fast on the 1/4 mile thats why the srt8 crippled the AMG on take-off just like i did with my 08 Charger SRT8 (rear-wheel drive) but the european cars such as AMGs are made for autobahn-ready high-end speed. bottom line: that $100k+ AMG got massacred by a $45k jeep for a good while. you do the math...

Mercedes is no longer the parent company of Chrysler, hasnt been for a very long time. Cerebrus took over years ago and sold it in bankruptcy to the US government and Fiat last year.
Mercedes cars during that time DID NOT SHARE ANY PARTS with Chyrsler cars.

They were not made by the same company and do not even share the same nuts and bolts as the Jeep.
Benz and Chrysler parted ways a long time ago.

So what you are saying is that Mercedes to Daimler AG is what is what Audi is to VW..?
Because as far as I know Daimler AG didn't buy Mercedes...they just made a deal,just like the one you said..
This is pretty important to me because I don't want Mercedes to be owned by anyone..or even to lower the quality in their cars due to some US company..because let's face it the quality in American engineering is not so good..
