I'm ashamed to say I'm also Alaskan. Look at all of the controveries this asshole has caused. How can you defend someone that wants to build a $223 million bridge to a village with 50 people? Not to mention he's under investigation for taking bribes from an Anchorage company that's already pled guilty to bribing Alaskan politicians. Thank god Alaska has no real say in national government! I can't wait to move :P

as a resident in new jersey in rep. garrett's district, i disagree with my representative on many issues and he is somebody i do not support...however he is in the right here b/c rep. young is a fraud who all he does is collect money in earmarks from the gov't that is not for education but is instead for unnecessary bridges, including the bridge to nowhere and another one he wants named after himself that is where the money goes...he doesnt care about education but rather his property values

I like how Young uses a metaphor of the mink and "those who bite," when he is quoted to have responded to Rep. Garrett by saying "those who bite me will be bitten back."

As an Alaskan, our rural area education really does suck.Yeah Don Young, Ted Stevens, and Mike Gravel all make Alaska seem odd. But,Don Young comes from Fort Youkon where he was a teacher! Where Gas is well beyond 4 dollars and milk is more. Come to Alaska and see our poorest area. Remote villages u cant get to by land unless its winter and the sled dog or snow machine is ready. I think Don Young has done good for Alaska. Just lay off the alcahol a little Don.
