Our training level xc round at the Alhambra Fall Championships. Not quite the way I envisioned ending the season, I demonstrate how not to steer or balance at ALL at one point, causing a run out at the coffin. And Sunny is WAY smarter than me, because while I didn't see that post there, thank god she did!! :P Other than that major bobble, which was totally my fault, Sunny was awesome. Definitely looking forward to next year!!

  • hello =) just to say , you and your mare are AMAZING! i was just wondering were you got your schooling from because i dont know im just curious in keeping my opitions open when looking for a good horse sable and school =)

  • @BlueLeopard779 Aww thank you so much!! Sunny and I definitely have been through a lot together! I went through the equine program at Olds College, and it was awesome! I am actually a coach now, and I don't ride with a particular trainer at the moment, but I have several amazing clinicians I ride with on a regular basis:) I find that works better for me, but it's different for everyone:)

  • That was an awesome ride! The course looks really fun!!! And Sunny looks amazing:)

  • @mgfequestrian Thank you, the course was a blast! We have a fabulous course designer:) Sunny is pretty awesome, if she liked dressage half as much as cross country, we'd be set, lol. ;)

  • Hehe This one loves to jump. She points her ears at almost every fence coming her way to almost say 'We jump this one?"

  • @GoGadgetHookerClean She does really seem to love it:) She used to lock onto random jumps when we were at lower levels, whatever was closest she'd be like OMG CAN I DO THIS ONE PLEASEEEEE!?!?! Lol. She's pretty awesome:)

  • @albertaeventer oh yeah ikr! haha I wish I could ride courses that awesome!

  • @SarahTheAmazing I don't find the courses too hard to memorize, the jumps are numbered and each level has its own color, and it usually runs around a field and is pretty straightforward. So it's always like around the big field, go to the water, then around to whatever, I usually walk it 2 or 3 times so that helps. I have more trouble with stadium courses, everything comes up a lot faster! :)

  • @MyGuyTy821 I only shoe her for the 4 months of eventing season, the rest of the year she is barefoot:) My farrier just uses plain keg shoes with quarter clips, and yes I do use studs. I evented for a couple years barefoot, but at training level the jumps are getting higher and I don't want to risk a slip at that level. This year was incredibly wet, so they definitely helped a lot!

  • What shoes do you have her in? Do you use studs?

  • Good lord! How the hell do you memorize a course like that?? Haha, I do the hunters, and I have a hard enough time remembering a 9 jump course sometimes. lol
