Catriona Le May Doan introduces the Ontario Speed Skating Oval
More info at http://www.ontariospeedskatingoval.com

The Ontario Speed Skating Oval (OSSO) is a non-profit organization mandated to build Ontarios first 400 m temperature controlled, outdoor speed skating oval with an adjacent multi-purpose community use building. The Oval will be the provincial home of speed skating and house the offices of the Ontario Speed Skating Association (OSSA). Speed Skating Canada has designated the Oval as a Regional Training and Development Centre for its programming. As the Regional Training Centre for Ontario and Eastern Canada, the Oval will help Canada reach its goals for Vancouver 2010

  • How about we fix our local arena first you know take care of a facility that is used almost everyday

  • Honestly, this is the stupidest idea ever.

  • Lakefield Oval is the biggest failure of a government project i've ever got to actually grow up and see happen. Its look just as shitty since the day the started as how it looks today. Lakefield Oval is an 11m $ massive waste of money space and time. Like honestly whos going to go up there other than stoners, alcoholics and other really cool people like that!?

  • They used to. but so did the norwegians. Just because they' ve been speedskating for a looooong time.

At the moment holland is the best skating country...

  • Holland? Don't they use wooden skates?

  • Holland will win all.

  • i think that this is a misplaced idea. it would be a great addition to the speed skating society in ontario, and it does look well planned out. but why not in ottawa, or in southern ontario? that way they could at least have a base of skaters.

  • Why are the Canadians denying the US Speed Skaters Ice Time at the Olympic facilities?

    That seems pretty weak.

No wonder Canada didn't win any gold medals last time they hosted..or the time before that...

    Karma is a bitch!
