After AA Flight 953 had difficulties making its first landing, the tower-radio controller made the second attempt even harder by giving misleading information. A more-experienced controller saved TGU Towers reputation by correcting the angle and wind speed allowing the Boeing 757 to go around and make a safe landing at 02 Runway.

  • Great video.

Exceptional captain, exactly the type of person you want flying the plane, doesn't try to rush or force the landing if the conditions are not spot on then round he goes.

  • I can't blame the pilot for that.. The controller was giving him the tail wind not head wind and he was saying 12 knots

  • j'aime les video comme ça sur youtube quand le pilote a beaucoup de pressure

  • Like to see the cockpit video on this. Great video. . .

  • The 757 crew did it right, and they came back and put it down on target and safely. They did not jeopardize the safety of their passengers to show off their skills or assuage their egos. That's precisely how I'd expect a professional crew to perform.

  • Archer49d it appears to me you don't understand the operating rules governing transport-category jets, nor air carriers. You malign the airmanship of this AA crew, yet their response was correct from a regulatory, airframe limitation, and airmanship standpoint. I completely disagree with your assessment of their actions.

  • I'm correct if think that the majority posting here never had been landing in Tegucigalpa.I used as passenger for many years, is one of the most difficult and dangerous airports in the world. Thanks God the end was happy here, a more confident and correct controller plus a very brave/skilled AA pilot save the day for everyone. But don't rush judgements, the Airport there is hard rock difficult, is like landing on a bowl bottom, so far San Pedro Sula offer a more relaxed landing.

  • hahah, i imagine wt was going on in the cockpit....."omg, this atc guy screwed us three times, one more time and well have no fking fuel to land" lol

  • @Foxx1981 How about you assert your authority as the CA. Don't let a controller fly your aircraft. This CA is clearly behaving like somebody mired in procedure rather than being a true airman.
