The actual sound recording from the Huygens Probe as it descends through the methane atmospheres of Titan, to land on the surface of this moon of Saturn.
This is the sound of the landing on another body in our solar system most distant from the earth.
Professor Carolin Crawford, Gresham Professor of Astronomy, introduces the recording, describing the 2 1/2 hour descent through the methane winds blowing at 6 to 7 km per hour. She then goes on to explain why we haven't yet been able to hear the sound of the atmosphere of Mars, and how we might be able to soon.

This is an extract from a free public lecture by Carolin Crawford, Gresham Professor of Astronomy: 'The Sounds of the Universe'.
The transcript and downloadable versions of the full hour-long lecture are available from the Gresham College website:

I actually wish I were there to witness this, though I'd suffice with merely witnessing something landing on the moon. Things like this make my heart stop, even though it's just a simple jumble of sounds, it evokes a lot of feelings.

That's true, it seems (fundamentalist) Islam is going through its own neo-dark ages at the moment

Science wasn't stunted during the dark ages. Many advances in the mathematics were made during the "dark ages" in heavily Islamic areas.

So are you trying to tell me that all arguments are like rat races and that all people who take part in them are rats? Or are you trying to tell me the internet some how makes this different?

If the internet makes this different some how then does that mean that all the debates between political and business leaders that have taken place on the internet (Using things like skype, twitch, etc for communication) are rat races when they normally are not?

Your argument does not hold up.

Winning an argument on the internet is like winning a rat race. In the end you're still a rat.

Sure... Well have it your way, but seriously, don't try to argue with people on the internet if you can't support your claims, not everyone on here would be as soft as I was.

Anyways see you around, and good luck haha.

And I am even going to let you have the last word to make you feel better, type as much as you want... It does not matter one bit to me.

Its actually that I just don't want to talk to you anymore... Its not an intelligent conversation. If its more important for you to be right, if it makes you feel better in your own mind to think you have won that's ok. just keep telling yourself that.
