Le Norway au port du Verdon à l'entrée de l'estuaire de la Gironde dans le Médoc, près de Bordeaux. Si ça bouge beaucoup, c'est à cause de la forte houle.

The cruise ship Norway (her old name: France built in France by Chantiers de l'Atlantique from 1958 to 1962)at Le Verdon (France) a little town at the entry of the estuary of the Gironde in the Médoc near Bordeaux. Le Verdon is a part of the port authority of Bordeaux. If the video shakes it's due to a strong swell.

French governement doesn't give a damn of Norway. A French association sospaquebotfrance fights for her come back in France. Several letters were sent to president of republic and prime minister but they never reply. France is our last french transatlantic she must be saved by governement because she is a part of our french heritage. She was built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique the same which had built Queen Mary 2.

Why not also scrap the Eiffel Tower?

NCL was informed that repairing her steam propulsion mean't insurance on the vessel would be cancelled. NCL had been provided 6yrs prior with estimates to replace her engines but did not act then. 6yrs later those estimates would rise at least 20/30%. The NTSB said the explosion could "replicate itself" within the existing system as well. NCL tried several times to sell her, but in the end any potential buyer simply could not pony up the $.

Its sad she's beeing chopped. I worked there when the boiler blew up, and i have many good memories from that ship.

And now she's being cut up for scrap, how sad... where are France's priorities, couldn't the government have bought this beautiful ship and saved her from the scrapper's torch?
