What guitar are you using?

I put it together from parts by performance guitar (got ordering advice from Kuni). It's mahogany (but I drilled a hundred holes in the backside to make it lighter). Thanks, Clem

are you playing the opening in triad chords?

Let's discuss it as Dmajor and Dsus4. SInce the Dmaj is a standard Amajor form at the 4th fret, you could call it 1-5-8-10 (where 10 is the major 3rd). If you call the low D a bass tone, you can consider the other three notes a triad, but in second inversion. In the Dsus4, the major 3rd becomes a 4th (or sub-dominant). The Bb and C forms are the same. Keep jammin'

how long did it take you to learn how to play?

Started drumming in 2nd grade (1972) and then guitar in 1975. Bass became my focus from 1985 to 1995, but I always tried to play a little bit each day or at least each week. A few lessons, mostly by ear, and trading riffs with friends. Clem
