I prefer Cathy as well. I got to see her live when she was on tour with the show. She was absolutely amazing!!! Too bad they didn't officially video either version....

though these videos are great for viewing the original cast with its blocking, lighting, etc., it's a total misrepresentation of the energy the original show had. due to the lack of applause, this would appear to be a rehearsal staged just for this proshot to be made. i can't imagine how much a live audience would have added to such a grand scale production.

@mbta0293 I enjoyed them both! They both explored different side of the Cat: David gave him a slightly more mischievous side as he tries to get Jojo to realize who he really is, all with ironically pure intentions, while Cathy looked at the Cat as a character who truly wanted to convey the story to all who will listen, an externally softer version of the Cat and being much like Dr. Seuss! At least that's how I see it! What do you think?

i disagree, cathy actually understood how to play the role, david was almost like an evil villain or something. for me the star performer is janine lamanna as gertrude
