If you listen closely, you can hear subtle differences in his voice on different parts of the song. In some places, he sounds gruffer & harsher. As someone who also deals with multiple personalities & considering the seemingly contradictory nature of certain parts of the song, I think it's a duet between two personalities. One is the Protector & the other is rather Self-Destructive & they argue. 'Myself & I we share this barely beating heart of hurt' Just MHO. Anyone else hear it?

I relate to this song so much. Having my own mental issues and inner issues i can understand fully where he is coming from. So many people complain about having bad days...what they need to realize is the person you are complaining to may have a bad life...period...we all suffer but those who have mental issues do suffer more. Respect to all who have bi polar and depression of any kind who dont take meds and deal with it on their own. I know your struggle cause im one of them.
