This talking kangaroo drinks beer?!? I guess as long as he doesn't drink too much and he pays for it (kangaroos aren't known to carry cash or credit), I guess it's OK??...

  • Hmm...An anthropomorphic animal with the voice of a sophisticated business man doing nothing but small talk in the hopes of making a funny joke. Now where have I seen this before...

Oh my god. That Kangaroo is Seth McFarlene! AHHHHH!

  • Oh please share more Jax beer commercials! I grew up in Oklahoma City and they were on the nightly news during the weather forecast. When they returned to the weather cast Bob Thomas would be laughing so hard he could barely speak. I still talk about a few of them as they were among the best ever.

  • There's a small Jax museum (or at least there was pre-Katrina) in the upper floors of the retail development that took over the old brewery. It has some commercials like this running, but claims the voices were McLean Stevenson & Elaine May. But this one at least sounds like Nichols.

  • @Malco2245 Jax was a New Orleans brewery; it didn't even occur to me til recently they went national...

  • Please tell me that you people know were beer comes from!!!!

  • Another great company shot to hell by dumbass grandchildren.

  • @ccahill77 My Dad Hal Gerhardt was Art Director on this commercial when he was with the advertising agency Doherty, Clifford, Steers & Shenfield in NY. It won Best commercial in 1961 at the 2nd American TV Commercials festival. Guess your Dad was his client! It's first air date was in July of 1960. The producer was Russell Ford; Copywriter: William Wall; Directors: Jack Zander & Chris Ishii; Designer: Armin Shaffer & Cinematographer: Al Rezak.

  • @dmacmurray ...funny I was telling my GF about that commercial 10 minutes ago and came looking for it on youtube...did you find it....It was very funny

  • @oakmag Blast fromthe past! Grew up around Austin, where my uncle worked for the Jax distributor for many decades. Their league bowling shirts even had the cartoon commercial characters on them - jump back Joe Camel!

  • This is how I remembered cartoons!
